A panoramic view into the history of Tyrol

The Bergisel in the south of the tyrolean capital Innbruck is an important area in many ways. As a historical battleground where the tyrolean people beat several battles in 1809, during the napoleonic wars against the French and Bavarians, as a sports center for ski jumping and - since 2011 - as the museum itself, the exhibition represents a museum in a museum.

For the museum complex, the existing Kaiserjägermuseum was expanded to a spacious modern addition and it was here, among other things where one of the most highly symbolic historical tyrolean exhibits found his new place: the Riesenrundgemälde by Michael Zeno Diemer in 1896, which shows a panoramic view on the third Bergisel battle in August 1809, on 1,000 square meters linen.

The Tyrol panorama and Kaiserjägermuseum Innsbruck is accessible by car in about 60 min. from the Alpine Caravan Park Achensee.
